Go Far FAQs

1) Are the Go Far tests required for my child?
-No. However, these are an extra resource for your child. These will help them get used to taking a test on the computer and typing some of their responses. I would like them all to be completed by April 12th. They will be taking some in school as well.

2) Can my child take them more than once?
-Yes. I will go in every week and reopen the tests. They will not be able to go right back in and retake the test. If it says that the teacher needs to reopen the test, they have already taken it.

3) What are all the passcodes for?
-All of the tests for each teacher have a unique code to access them. You child's GTID number will be the same but the passcode will be different for each one. The passcodes for each teacher are different too, even if it is the same class. For example, Mrs. Gambrel's class passcode for the Reading 1 test will be different than the one for my class. These codes are tied to my specific students. I'm telling you this in case you look at their websites and see different codes. DO NOT USE THEIR CODES. They won't work for our class.

4) Should my child start practicing?
-Absolutely. We start testing April 13th and they need all the practice they can get.

5) Can my child go back in later and finish a test?
-No. If you close out of the test, it submits the test. You will need to set aside a good chunk of time for them to work on this at home.

6) Can I see my child's score?
-It depends. Different teachers have made it available where you can see feedback at the end and others have not. Also, tests with constructed responses or short answers will not have a grade because they have to be manually graded.

7)Where can I find my child's GTID number?
-Your child's GTID number is written on the QR code that is stapled on the first page of their agenda.

8) Can I help my child on the test?
-You can if you want to. In class, I won't be helping them because I want to see where they're at. However, you can help them at home as a learning/review tool.

Milestones Practice-Go Far

Parents,

Go Far is a website that all grades will be posting on for practice tests for the Georgia Milestones. I already have 2 tests assigned to the students to complete online. These are not for a grade unless you are notified otherwise. The students have the QR code in stapled in the front of their agendas. For a student to log in, they will need their GTID number which is written on their QR code paper. They will also need a student passcode. The passcode for the grammar test is 30767. The passcode for the reading test is 71641. This will be discussed further at the PTO meeting on Thursday at 7pm. As we make tests, I will share the student passcodes.
